Owner Mete Mutlu has been working with Oriental Tribal Rugs and textiles since 1989.  He has personally handpicked each and every item in our inventory.

Mete truly loves and respects the art and beauty of handmade rugs.  This is evident in his enthusiasm and interest in sharing his knowledge with others.  He has been known to spend many hours (and many cups of tea!) discussing the various aspects of rugs and other weaving traditions.  He has given many lectures throughout the country, helping educate others and pass on his  knowledge.

We are a small family-owned and operated business. Allison Mutlu, Mete’s wife, manages the less interesting, but necessary practical sides of the business.  Enver, Peri and Eren Mutlu are our apprentices, already showing signs of their father’s gift!
